Mar 26, 2010: Cara School Parents Association presents:
Night at the Races Beef and Beer on
April 17, 2010
Race Horse Sponsorship: Ten horses run in each of the ten races. A sponsor selects a name for a horse and bets $10.00.
If their horse wins the race, the sponsor receives $25.00. This is a great way for friends and family that cannot
attend to support the school- and have a chance to win!
Race Sponsorship: This is a way for businesses and other groups to support our school. For $50.00 all race sponsors
will be included in the sponsor book. They will be acknowledged for the contribution and continuing support of our
dancers. Please ask your local merchants for their support.
Forms for the Race Horse Sponsorship and Race Sponsorship are attached. Details and submission dates are listed on
the forms.
The success of this event depends greatly on your cooperation. Since every dancer in the school will benefit we hope
to see many of our families participate.

Ad Book
The deadline to receive ads is December 17th (less than two weeks from now). Forms are posted at www.carafeis.com . Remember, there is an incentive offered (tuition credit for the seller/dancer) for all ads received. The Committee is hoping that all dancers will make an effort to solicit an ad. Ads will reach about 3,000 people - good publicity!!
Perpetual Trophy Donations
What is a Perpetual trophy?
For those of you not as familiar with the Open and Preliminary championship levels, at many feisanna, "Perpetual" trophies are given to the 1st place winner in all age groups of these championship levels. The
Perpetual trophy is always donated to the feis in memory of someone or to start a tradition for a family
who truly loves the art of Irish Dance. The winner has their name engraved on the trophy, keeps it for one year, and returns it for the next year's feis. At the same time, they receive a smaller prize for their
achievement of 1 st place that they can keep forever.
The number of Perpetual trophies presented at a feis depends solely on the number of donated trophies
received. Our goal is to have a Perpetual trophy for every age group of Preliminary and Open Championship
levels.
Each Perpetual trophy donation is $125. If you are interested in donating a Perpetual trophy
in memory of someone, in the name of someone or some group/business, or just to start a tradition in honor
of Irish Dancing with your own family name, please complete the form found at www.carafeis.com and send it along with your
payment.
Cara Choir
We are forming a choir to sing the Natrional Anthems at the feis (American and Irish Anthems). If you are interested, please plan to attend as many of the following rehearsals as possible:
Saturday December 6th: 10:30 AM at he Drexel Hill Studio for one hour
December 19th: one hour - time TBD
One hour during one day of xmas week - TBD
Final rehearsal during the week leading up to the feis
We really hope to see you on Saturday at 10:30 so that Jocelyn McGillian can begin training our choir. She has graciously offered her time and talent!!
Feis Day Volunteers
You should expect to see a comprehensive request for volunteers later this week. Each sub-committee has needs. There will be several opportunities!
Cara School Entries
The entry deadline and the change deadline have both passed. Cara teachers do hope to review Cara entries for errors, ommissions and so forth. We may be able to make manual changes. Dancers will be contacted individually (soon) regarding entry chsnges and problems. If you already know that you forgot or enter something please email teachers at caratcrg@aol.com for help ASAP.
Please look for frequent updates from the Cara Parent's Association as the feis date draws closer.
Thank You!
